The Madison City School System is proud to participate in the National School Lunch Program. All City schools offer a complete breakfast and lunch meal each school day. Meals are planned by a Registered Dietitian and comply with standards set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture. The Madison City School Board encourages all students to support the school lunch program by purchasing a school-made meal each day. This site contains information designed to make this process simple and convenient.

The Madison City School System participates in the Offer vs. Serve program. All students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade shall be permitted to decline any one (1) of the four (4) items offered at breakfast; however, every student must select a fruit or fruit juice. Students may decline two (2) of the five (5) items offered at lunch; however, every student must select a fruit or a vegetable.

If your child was free or reduced in Madison City Schools during the 2016-2017 school year, they will be the same eligibility for the first 30 school days of the 2017-2018 school year. Every student should receive a paper copy of the application on their first day of school; however, it is only necessary to complete one application (online or paper) per household per year.  If you feel that you need a paper application, you may stop by the Madison City Schools Central Office at 211 Celtic Drive to pick up one or you may email the Child Nutrition bookkeeper at jkammer@madisoncity.k12.al.us and one will be emailed back to you.

 

The online application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals is available here after July 7, 2017.  Applications for the 2017-2018 school year cannot be submitted before July 1, 2017.
