Below are links and information that is important for student success. Students should check email, InformationNOW, Google Classroom, Moodle, and other resources as directed by their teachers to help ensure success.
To set up client based access to your school virtual desktop on your home computer:
Click on the “VMWare Horizon View” link above.
Click the "Install VMwae Horizon Client" button.
Click the “View Client for ______” link so you may download the client program onto your computer. There are downloads available for both Windows, Mac, and other operating systems. (To download the client onto a mobile device, go to the App Store and install the VMWare Horizon View Client.)
Click the “Go to Downloads” link beside the correct product for your type of computer.
Click the “Download” button and run the installation.
When asked for the Default View Connection Server, enter: view.madisoncity.k12.al.us. Leave other settings as they are.
*** This is a one-time setup process. After this is complete, whenever you want to access your school desktop on the computer, just double-click on the “VMware View Client” icon on your desktop, enter your school username and password, and connect. You may install the client on as many computers as you like. ***
For HTML access, do the following on any HTML5 compatible computer/web browser.
Click on the “VMare Horizon View” link above.
Click the "VMware Horizon HTML Access" button.
Log in and open your desktop.
Web Portal - Use the Gateway to access network files and other systems.
Guest Network - The Guest Network is available to students who bring personal devices to school. Users must already have a valid Madison City School's username and password for full access.
